Bobbatlu (ghee)

Bobbatlu, also known as Puran Poli, is a traditional South Indian sweet flatbread often enjoyed during festivals and special occasions. Made from a filling of chana dal (Bengal gram) and jaggery, it’s encased in a dough of all-purpose flour. The filling is flavored with cardamom, and the entire mixture is cooked with ghee for a rich taste. To prepare, the dough is rolled out, filled with the sweetened chana dal mixture, and then cooked on a griddle with ghee until golden brown. Bobbatlu is loved for its sweet, nutty filling and soft, flaky texture, enhanced by the aromatic ghee.
